specializing in OCD, phobias, Body -focused repetitive behaviors & Anxiety Related Disorders

Hi, I’m Kristin Rispoli- Licensed Mental health counselor

Exploring yourself is a vulnerable process. It takes courage to begin the search for a mental health provider.

I strive to provide a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space for my clients. I believe in a collaborative approach. From my years working in hospitals, I see how important it is for all providers to communicate. If you have a psychiatrist that you are already working with, I would love the opportunity to share updates or important information with them.

Care and attention to each client extends after the session.

My Approach

Every client is unique in their own way. I believe in treating the whole person and sometimes that means utilizing different techniques from multiple therapeutic approaches. I have extensive training in different forms of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Two in particular are exposure therapy and the ComB model. Exposure therapy is the evidence-based treatment used for OCD, phobias, and panic attacks. While ComB is utilized in treating body-focused repetitive behaviors. Research shows a history of trauma could increase chances of OCD onset. In certain cases, inner child work also becomes an important part OCD of recovery.

experience/education

I began working in the field after undergraduate school. My very first job was working nights at a local psychiatric hospital as a tech. It was important to me to immerse myself in the field for a few years before I made the commitment to Graduate school. My background also includes case management at an addiction treatment center, leading an Intensive Outpatient Program, facilitating various groups in hospitals, and being a part of a group therapy practice. I obtained my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern in 2016. I have my own lived experience and struggles with OCD. I find that offers understanding and connection with my clients. I truly know how debilitating OCD can be. But I also know through the right treatment, remission is possible.
